About FixPlainly
FixPlainly helps you understand what your washer or dishwasher is telling you, fix what you safely can, and know when to call someone who can do the rest.
Why we built it
When an appliance stops mid-cycle, the usual search turns up forum threads, repair company sales pages and lists of codes copied from site to site, often for the wrong brand. We wanted one place where every answer is traceable to the manufacturer, written in plain English, and honest about risk.
What makes us different
- Sources first. Every error code is checked against the brand’s own support pages or manuals, and every page links to them.
- Safety ratings. Every step says whether it’s safe to try, needs care, or is a job for a technician.
- We leave gaps rather than guess. If we can’t verify a brand’s codes, we don’t publish them yet. See how we check.
Independence
FixPlainly is independent. We aren’t affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, GE or any other appliance maker; brand names are used only to identify products. The site is free and supported by advertising, which never decides what we write.
