LG dishwasher error codes
LG dishwashers. LG wrote its guide for all models, so a code on your dishwasher may differ slightly; your manual has the final word.
Water supply and filling
IE: No water coming in
Water isn’t reaching the tub.
Draining and overfilling
OE: Not draining
Water isn’t fully draining out of the tub.
Leaks
AE: Leak or overfill detected
Too much water was supplied, or a leak was found in the base.
EI FEDoors, lids and drawers
F37: Auto-open door not working
Make sure nothing blocks the door. Contact LG if it continues.
Detergent and suds
bE: Too many suds
The dishwasher has too much foam. LG’s fix starts with stopping hand dish soap and using less detergent.
Parts and sensors
nE: Spray pump not spinning normally
Something may be touching the pump impeller and slowing it.
tE: Temperature sensor fault
No home fix. A technician needs to inspect it.
HE: Water not heating
No home fix. A technician needs to inspect it.
LE: Wash motor fault
No home fix. A technician needs to inspect it.
PE: Water level sensor fault (some older models)
No home fix. A technician needs to inspect it.
F31: Heat Dry fan not running
Dynamic Heat Dry models. The fan or motor needs inspection.
F35: Heat Dry temperature unreadable
Dynamic Heat Dry models. The heater or sensor needs inspection.
Notices, not faults
CL: Control lock is on
Press and hold Half Load and Energy Saver together for 3 seconds.
PF: Power was interrupted
Not a fault. Press Start/Pause to resume.
No LG dishwasher code matches that. Check your manual for model-specific codes, or try the Fix Finder.
Resetting an LG dishwasher
For most LG dishwasher faults there’s no home fix. LG says a technician needs to inspect codes such as tE, HE, LE and PE.
