LG dishwasher code AE: leak or overfill detected

What it means

Too much water was supplied, or a leak was found in the base.

What to try

Unplug the dishwasher before any step beyond a quick look, and turn the water off before touching hoses.

1. Check the dishwasher is level and the door lines up when closed.
2. Use dishwasher detergent only, never hand dish soap.
3. Load large items upside down so they don’t hold water.
4. Never pour water into the Heat Dry blower.
5. If you can’t see any leak, unplug the dishwasher.
