LG washer code LE: drum won’t turn
Fixable with care
Also shown as LE1
What it means
The motor is struggling to turn the drum, for example from an overload or something stuck. On top-load washers, AE and LE1 also mean this.
What to try
Unplug the washer before any step beyond a quick look, and turn the water off before touching hoses.
- Unplug the washer for 5 minutes, then try again.
- Take some laundry out to reduce the load.
- Top-load: look for a coin or other object trapped between the wash plate and the drum. Unplug first, then remove it with tweezers.
Call a technician if
- The code persists, or you hear grinding or the drum still won’t turn.
Resetting an LG washer
LG’s usual reset: unplug the washer for 10 to 60 seconds (LG gives different times for different codes), plug it back in and restart. If the code persists, contact LG for service.
