LG washer code OE: not draining
Fixable with care
Also shown as E03 E21
What it means
The washer couldn’t pump the water out of the tub.
What to try
Unplug the washer before any step beyond a quick look, and turn the water off before touching hoses.
- Straighten the drain hose and clear any clog in it.
- Run a spin-only cycle to test whether the drain pump runs.
- Front-load: clean the drain pump filter behind the small panel at the bottom front. Lay towels and a shallow tray down first; water will come out.
- Front-load: run Tub Clean and cut back on detergent. Excess suds can stop draining.
- Top-load: if the hose or tub could have frozen, let everything thaw before trying again.
Call a technician if
- The code comes back after these steps.
Resetting an LG washer
LG’s usual reset: unplug the washer for 10 to 60 seconds (LG gives different times for different codes), plug it back in and restart. If the code persists, contact LG for service.
