Samsung washer code 4C: not filling with water
You can usually fix this
Also shown as 4E nF 1 4C
What it means
The washer asked for water and not enough arrived in time. Samsung’s fixes for this code are all about the water supply.
On models without a display, Samsung signals this with: Extra Large, Extra High, Large or High lights blinking.
What to try
Unplug the washer before any step beyond a quick look, and turn the water off before touching hoses.
- Make sure both water valves behind the washer are turned fully open.
- Check that the hot hose goes to the hot inlet and the cold hose to the cold inlet.
- Straighten any kinked or pinched supply hoses. Samsung advises against “Flood Safe” style hoses on these washers.
- Check the drain hose sits 6 to 8 inches into the drain pipe, as Samsung specifies.
- Unplug the washer or switch off its breaker for 1 minute, then try the cycle again.
- Turn the water off, unscrew the supply hoses and clean any debris from the small inlet filters.
Call a technician if
- The code keeps coming back after the supply checks above.
Resetting a Samsung washer
Samsung’s basic reset for most faults: turn the washer off for 2 to 3 minutes, turn it back on and restart the cycle. If the same code comes back, request service.
