Samsung washer code E2: button stuck

You can usually fix this

Also shown as bE2 6E2

What it means

The control panel thinks a button is being held down.

On models without a display, Samsung signals this with: Cold or Eco Warm light blinking.

What to try

Unplug the washer before any step beyond a quick look, and turn the water off before touching hoses.

  1. Turn the washer off.
  2. Press each button in, all the way, and let it spring back.
  3. Turn the washer on again.

On some models BE2 and 8E2 also mean a stuck button. Check your manual.

Call a technician if

  • A button is visibly damaged.
  • The code comes back.

Resetting a Samsung washer

Samsung’s basic reset for most faults: turn the washer off for 2 to 3 minutes, turn it back on and restart the cycle. If the same code comes back, request service.
