What it means
The washer can’t confirm the door or lid is shut and locked, so it won’t start or continue.
On models without a display, Samsung signals this with: Hot light with Extra Large, Extra High, Large or High blinking.
What to try
Unplug the washer before any step beyond a quick look, and turn the water off before touching hoses.
- Open the door and remove anything caught in the latch or the seal.
- Close it firmly until it clicks.
- If Child Lock is on, some models drain the water automatically when the door isn’t closed within 30 seconds. Close the door or turn Child Lock off.
- FlexWash models showing 1dC4: the small rubber button beside the upper latch is missing. Replacing that button clears the code.
Call a technician if
- The door, hinge or latch is damaged.
- The code returns even with the door properly closed.
Resetting a Samsung washer
Samsung’s basic reset for most faults: turn the washer off for 2 to 3 minutes, turn it back on and restart the cycle. If the same code comes back, request service.
