Samsung washer code LE: water leak detected
Fixable with care
Also shown as 1E 1C LC LC1 1 1C 1 LC
What it means
A sensor has found moisture where water shouldn’t be. It can be a real leak, a lot of suds, or a sensor fault.
What to try
Unplug the washer before any step beyond a quick look, and turn the water off before touching hoses.
- Look for water around and under the washer, and fix any leak you can see, such as a loose hose.
- Check the supply and drain hoses aren’t kinked.
- Don’t remove the screw on the drain hose holder. If it was removed, refit it with any screw that fits.
- Run empty cycles with no detergent or additives until no suds are left, then check again.
Call a technician if
- The code stays on with no suds and no visible leak.
- The drain hose holder is missing.
Resetting a Samsung washer
Samsung’s basic reset for most faults: turn the washer off for 2 to 3 minutes, turn it back on and restart the cycle. If the same code comes back, request service.
